Waynetown -- Graveside services were conducted at the Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown for Perry GILSON 18 who died in the Mercy hospital at Grayling, Michigan as the result of a broken neck suffered while he was swimming in Higgins Lake in Michigan. Mrs. Lawrence Vannice, of Darlington, a cousin accompanied by an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. CB Snyder of Indianapolis went to Detroit, Gilson's home, following the receipt of news of his death. Funeral services were held at the Grandale Presbyterian Church in Detroit for the youth who was a member of that church. He was graduate din June from McKinsey HS in Detroit. Mrs. Vannice and Mr. and Mrs. Snyder accompanied the funeral party from Detroit to Waynetown for burial service. Mrs. William Crady of Darlington is an aunt and there are several other relatives living in the Waynetown community. Born in Chicago May 16, 1931 Gilson was the son of Mrs. Mary Snyder Gilson now of Detroit. The mother and two brothers, Harold and Robert survive. Mrs. Gilson and her 3 sons visited relative sin Montgomery County for a brief period in July. The youth's death occurred only a few days after their return to their Detroit home. - kbz
